Writing from my satellite office at Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort. If you look closely, you can see our house from here, over by the lake (yeah right...) My son said "Dad, let's ski!" I said "I have a lot of work to do today." He said "Bring your laptop!" I said "Done!" The boy is a genius!
The deadline to have an ad in the Lone Star Luau program is TUESDAY JAN 6! If you'd like to advertise in our program, rates are $175 for 1/4 page, $250 for half page, $500 for full page and $1000 for back cover.
VERY EXCITED to announce our title sponsor, Chopin Imports! They make potato vodka (swear it's a coincidence #idaho) and lots of other great products, which you will be able to sample at the Luau.
Had a spectacular Christmas break - our friends Johnny Doo and Dana came up to Sandpoint and we skied, threw axes, drank too much craft beer, and went to see Midland who put on a stellar show.
Then we headed to Santa Ynez, CA for New Years Eve to our friends Russ and Andi's ranch that they bought from legendary Elton John cowriter and lyricist Bernie Taupin. Bernie has become friends with them, and came over to watch us perform. Many years ago I got an email from him saying how much he liked my song "Riding with Private Malone" - that night I got to thank him for that email in person. He watched our show and during "Malone" he came down front. I could see his lips moving, he knew every word. My friend Mason said when he sat down next to him, Bernie said "This is my favorite song!"
Next we we head out to MusicFest in Steamboat Springs, CO (more skiing) and we are very excited about this year's shows out there, doing one called "Married In Music" with Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis and several other couples. We are doing a Shotgun CD release party, and a show with Aaron Watson, Kevin Fowler and Randall King. Also a show where we will be interviewed about the Luau.
Well it's been 4 months since we moved up to Idaho - the rig is still for sale and we are flying to pretty much all of our shows now. That being said, the West Coast and MidWest are REALLY easy to fly to from up here! So hit us up and hopefully we can come do a show for you!
