THURSDAY

The Susquehanna Rum Runners
Thursday evening was more of a pre-event party. A small gathering of Trop Rock loving Parrot Heads gathered in the rustic bar at Keenan”s Irish Pub in N. Wildwood, beginning around 5:00 PM. The early hour or early opening date caused some small glitches in the serving of liquid reinforcements, but was soon ironed out to everyone's satisfaction.

“Tiki” Thom Starkey kicked the evening off in his inimitable style. The cowboy/beach hatted New Englander can always be counted upon to not just entertain, but inspire, and soon everyone was in the spirit of Parrot Head madness.

Following “Tiki”, Gary PhillipS took the spotlight, with a high quality set of favorites. By the time Gary and his harmonica and keyboard playing sidemen were done at 10:00 PM, the crowd was glowing with anticipation and rum induced fervor.

At 10:00 PM, John Friday took the stage in the main room. Backed up by female Trop Rock artist, Dani Hoy, John's set had the crowd laughing, singing along, and dancing to his rendition of Ceann's, “Worst Pirate Song”. John and Dani's show was well up to par, and kept their fans standing. That's saying a lot for them, since there was plenty of seating available.

All in all, the kick-off evening was judged a success by this observer, and bodes well for an exciting weekend to be. Stay tuned to www.wnyshoreradio.com, “The Shore”, for updates and all the news from the Jersey shore.

FRIDAY

Today's performers included, Dani Hoy, Nicky Fabbz, Dave McKenney, John Friday, Davey Werkheiser and Cathy, John Frinzi, Island Castaway Band, and Swim Skinny Band. All performed extremely well, with crowd pleasing antics and the songs every Parrot Head and Trop Rock fan in the house were clamoring for. The venue, while large, is 60% bar, leaving only 40% of the floor space for the fans to mingle and mill. Friday's evening crowd, while larger by 10 fold, than Thursday night's, still had adequate room to free range.

The show begins tomorrow at 11:00 AM, with Dani Hoy and Nicky Fabbz kicking off the day, followed by Binghamton, NY's, Susquehanna Rum Runners Band.
