Jimmy and the Parrots News - Kicking off a Busy Labor Day Weekend!

Greetings!

The marathon eight gigs in 7 days is behind us, and we could not have done it (or had nearly as much fun) without everyone who came out to sing and dance with us as we traveled to eight different venues in eight different cities in three different states!  Here's a recap:

The tour kicked off in Camden, NJ, for a pre-Buffett concert tailgate party.  Good times were had by members of the Berks County Parrot Head Club and guests!  Next stop was Verona, NJ, for a return to the Verona Community Pool.  A gorgeous summer evening spent poolside; it's what summer's all about!  Then, it was off to Wantagh, NY, and another pre-Buffett tailgate party--this one in Jones Beach.  Incredible!  Three bands (King Wellington and the Earth Peeples and Tradewinds along with JATP) entertained the crowd all day long!  Because of a previously scheduled gig for that evening, Jimmy and crew literally flew from the afternoon gig to the evening gig--from NY to NJ.  A huge thanks to EVERYONE who made this unique trip possible and successful!
Jimmy made it to Ship Bottom, NJ, with a few minutes to spare; a fantastic crowd had gathered in Waterfront Park to dance the night away, and they were not disappointed. On Friday, we resorted to more traditional means of transportation to head down to Lewes, DE, as we helped Cape Henlopen State Park celebrate its 50th Anniversary.  It was great seeing so many of our Delaware Seashore PHC friends in the crowd on Friday night!  On Saturday, the band partied with a purpose at "Goldens in Paradise", a fundraiser hosted by the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue.  A great time was had by all (both the two- and four-legged attendees!)  On Sunday, it was back to New York, as we took a ferry from Bay Shore to Ocean Beach for a Jimmy solo performance at the Sand Bar.  Always a blast!  Finally, on Monday, the Jimmy and Jimmy duo made their debut on the storied Stephen Talkhouse stage in Amagansett, NY.  This time, the band bus was our mode of transportation--until the bus threw a tread en route and the guys had to be rescued to make the gig on time.  Special thanks to EVERYONE who assisted that evening...there were many who came to our aid, in one way or another, and we will never forget the kindnesses bestowed on Monday evening!  We are so fortunate to call so many of your friends!  Jimmy and Jimmy had a great time at the Talkhouse and they are deeply grateful to all of you who came out to support this special musical endeavor.

It's hard to believe, but we are already to Labor Day weekend.  Before we hit that unofficial end of summer milestone, the band will be performing in Freehold, NJ, for the Downtown Freehold Thursday Concert Series on August 28.  There are a couple of private performances Friday and Saturday in Mohnton, PA, and Stone Harbor, NJ, respectively, before Jimmy takes his solo show to Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery in Rio Grande, NJ, on Sunday afternoon.  We round out a very busy weekend with another private performance Sunday night in Belmar, NJ.  Details for the public performances are below; we look forward to seeing even more friends this weekend!  To quote Mr. Buffett, "yes, it's been quite a summer," and we have you all to thank for making it extraordinarily memorable and a whole lot of fun!
