On December 14, 2019 the Barefoot Man is hosting a benefit concert for the Abaco Cays in Stuart Florida. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Abaco Cays.
The Barefoot Man (George Nowak) and the Sea N' B Band will be donating their entire salaries for performing back to the Abaco Cays. In addition, he is putting together a lineup of other acts which will also donate their salaries.
The benefit will be held at the Martin County Fair Grounds in Stuart Florida which can hold up to 8000 people. Add sponsor donations, alcohol sales, CD Sales, and a 50/50 and we hope to make a seven-figure donation
To make this happen we need your help. I'm making this post to call of anyone sympathetic to this cause to help use the power of social media to help promote this event.
Start by joining Facebook's Barefoot Man Fan Club as this will be your source of information about the benefit. Simply by joining, "Liking" posts, making "comments" on posts, and "sharing", Facebook knows that the post is something important and will promote the event by showing posts to even more people.
Next, invite your friends to join the group. The group is only 1 month old and already has nearly 400 members and is growing every day. By joining the group and sharing with your friends and then inviting your friends.. we will gain the power to reaching millions of Facebook users.
Lets make this event a success. The people of the Abaco Cays are faced with a challenge that will take years to rebuild. The Barefoot Man is speaking on the radio right now to promote the event. Let's make this happen. Hope for Abaco.

Local Musician Organizes Benefit for Abacos, Bahamas

Chuck Quappe, Roger 'Bugs' Wilson, Mark McTagart, Barefoot Man, Barry Quappe are on their way to Florida for a benefit concert to benefit the Abacos Islands in the Bahamas
One of Cayman’s well known Musicians with a special connection to Abaco, Bahamas is staging a major benefit concert in Stuart Florida Fairground for the Island.
Barefoot man has been going to the Bahamas since in 1969 and some of his first experiences in the Caribbean were in the Abacos Islands of the Bahamas.
The Caymanian Times had an opportunity to speak to Barefoot Man about the concert and why it was important for him to lend a helping hand in the effort to assist the people of the Bahamas.
“I have been doing the concert for 20 years, totaling 28 concerts. Some years we did a winter and a summer,” he exclaimed.
As part of the trip, Barefoot Man will be traveling with his usual cast of friends and Musicians.
Included in the bevy of talent making the journey with ‘Foot’ - as he is known the the musical fraternity in the Cayman Islands - are Sunny Jim ( who played Music in Cayman at they Hyatt for many years ) and Sea n B Band, which includes Chuck and Barry Quape, Mark Mctaggart and Roger ‘Bugs’ Wilson.
The National Flag Carrier of the Cayman Islands Cayman Airways Limited is one of the major sponsors, and will be picking up the tab for Barefoot, along with four band members to fly to Florida.
“I have a daughter who lives/lived on Green Turtle Cay; one of the destroyed islands.
“As I have been visiting and performing in the Abaco Cays since around 1969... I have several CDs and lots of song dedicated to the Abacos,” noted Barefoot Man.
