Hello everyone -
We are all aware about the threat of Corona Virus, and James and I want to do everything we can to help mitigate the spread of the virus in our community, so we are re-evaluating scheduled shows.
Train Depot Shows
Sarasota County just announced the closure of all county facilities and activities for the next 30 days. The Train Depot is a county facility, so it will not be available to us in the weeks to come. This means Thursday's show with Sunny Jim and Donny Brewer is canceled, but we are going to reschedule that show for the end of May, so stay tuned. You will be able to use your show passes, and if you need to cancel completely, let me know and I'll work on a refund for you. We will deal with the other shows in the days to come.
Jim Morris Tribute Shows
We also need to consider what to do about the Smiling Out Loud Shows which are a tribute to Jim Morris' music scheduled in mid April. At this time we are looking for alternate dates so that we can reschedule because we can't predict what will happen over the next 30 days. The last thing we want to do is put our friends and neighbors at risk of exposure to the Corona Virus in a closed space. With three busy musicians/performers, it is also a challenge to find dates that work for everyone.
I am going to talk to the venues and the hotels tomorrow and will have an update for you soon.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but many of us are in the high risk category of this threat, so we want to follow best practices and recommendations for "social distancing" to avoid spreading the virus.
I know some of you are already self-quarantining and staying home - so are we. Our concerts are special in these intimate rooms, but they are also closed spaces where the virus can spread.
